it's also shameful that i own a car that i'm still making payments on, that is functionally powered by buggy closed-source software that the manufacturer has no intention of ever fixing. i can't even choose to pay for a hardware+software upgrade path.

I have to say that I have basically moved on from half-life. In a lot of ways half life is quite adolescent. It’s very linear, not quite a hallway, but very non-deterministic. Small choice of weapons, very few complexities to master.
