today i drove to and from a really cool office in a really great neighborhood to work for an unpleasant company on a trainwreck of a project

my company is trying to ‘change the culture’ to be one of co-location and collaboration, so they invested in new ‘agile’ workspaces

the other ‘agile’ locations were renovations-in-place, but in boston they moved the office and in some cases, increased commutes by an hour

this is difficult for me because i want to do work that helps people. at this stage in my life i need to do work that helps people.

but also, i need to receive a salary commensurate with ALL the experience i have to offer, and this is difficult to find in other companies

i guess, in summary, start saving early. make smart decisions about your career path. _have_ a career path.
