fun exercise: viewing archives of my website on my 34" ultra-widescreen monitor. (inconceivable monitor sizes at the time, of course) history.mikesusz.com/

this was my ‘homepage’ in 1996. i used percentage-based table cell widths to make the site ‘responsive.’ a screenshot of my website from 1997. this was my experiment with frames that probably should never have happened. a screenshot of my website from 2001. this was my last ‘responsive’ table layout iteration, as entirely moved to web standards shortly after.

@annika ooh that's a nice refresh. i went with a lenovo Y34wz-30 because of mini-LED backlight, but i really haven't used HDR much because the bright is BRIGHT.

@annika ooh neat, which one? is it widescreen? i had a monoprice 34" for a while, my wife took that one over and i have a lenovo legion 34" now. i love it. super useful to be able to split the widescreen between two different inputs, e.g. i've got the left half attached to a dock with my work Mac, and the right half displaying my personal Mac.

actually Starbucks, “that first sip feeling” is pain. the fiery burning pain as if you handed me a cup of molten lava and it just immolated my tongue and the roof of my mouth.

the burning hot fire of a thousand suns.

plus nuttiness and a hint of caramel a photo of a starbucks cup that says “that first sip feeling”

@_Davidsmith this is so cool and great to see this kinda tech come so far.

i had terrible flashbacks to the 90s & manually skewing and stitching images in photoshop to create 240x180 QTVR movies from my quicktake 100 camera.

exciting! creating a new collection on your website to display a new type of content.

not exciting: having to write all the content being displayed, or at least enough for now to make shipping the feature worthwhile.

@jerzone i keep an old magnetic dashboard phone-mount on my desk so i can chuck all the tiny screws at it while i work on projects. if i drop something i can usually sweep that around near the floor and find it eventually. not sure about sproinging things though, that’s gonna increase the target area.

@jerzone i've been intrigued by these systems for a while. ideally i'd like to replace my direct-fired boiler DHW with a dual-coil indirect DHW tank, one coil being fed by the boiler and another by a heat pump (basically want to turn my AC waste heat into hot water in the summer).

@jerzone not a plumber but those look like union fittings to me. so the nut should turn (seal made between flat mating surfaces) but you also seem to have much bi-metal corrosion maybe.
