@annika ooh neat, which one? is it widescreen? i had a monoprice 34" for a while, my wife took that one over and i have a lenovo legion 34" now. i love it. super useful to be able to split the widescreen between two different inputs, e.g. i've got the left half attached to a dock with my work Mac, and the right half displaying my personal Mac.

@jerzone better yet, i never told the kids what we were doing. we just stopped at a weird parking area at the end of the road and i started walking. lol

@jerzone okay i have to ask, have you taken the journey over to Madison? i stopped there with my boys on our way home from Mt. Washington and it was ... quite epic for a quick stop.

exciting! creating a new collection on your website to display a new type of content.

not exciting: having to write all the content being displayed, or at least enough for now to make shipping the feature worthwhile.

@jerzone i keep an old magnetic dashboard phone-mount on my desk so i can chuck all the tiny screws at it while i work on projects. if i drop something i can usually sweep that around near the floor and find it eventually. not sure about sproinging things though, that’s gonna increase the target area.

i hate to say, but i kinda want cable and a DVR again. i have so many subscriptions right now, but any time i have an idea to watch a specific thing, it’s not available anywhere and i have to pay for it.

as i read your training material, every time you use an acronym and don’t explain it, i get to poke you in the eye

i just finished reading The Murderbot Diaries entire series and i didn’t find out until i was on book 3 or 4 that Apple was making TV out of it and now i’m … what’s the word for being both excited and mad?

@jerzone oh wow that’s awesome. i’m guessing the outdoor component is kinda what we use now for radiant-floor heat, except painted black (and moving heat in the opposite direction)

@jerzone i've been intrigued by these systems for a while. ideally i'd like to replace my direct-fired boiler DHW with a dual-coil indirect DHW tank, one coil being fed by the boiler and another by a heat pump (basically want to turn my AC waste heat into hot water in the summer).

@jerzone not a plumber but those look like union fittings to me. so the nut should turn (seal made between flat mating surfaces) but you also seem to have much bi-metal corrosion maybe.

i really used to believe in "Good, Fast, Cheap: Pick 2" but now i'm thinking if you pick "Fast" that's all you get. maybe.

@atpfm when @siracusa was talking about many people in one place with mobile devices i instantly thought about PAX! my kids and i make an offline plan to meet up at specific places and times because we can never count on any data going through (or our batteries lasting long while attempting to send/receive with that congestion)

@revmem a long time ago i had a roommate who was an electrical engineering major, i asked him what the difference was and he said "A is for telco, B is for data" so i never really questioned it since. but i doubt the throughput would be affected much anymore.
