recently learned about how Astro does partial hydration, as i’m working on code that i want to execute client-side in my (otherwise statically generated site). the attribute i’m using is client:load, info about hydration in Astro here: https://docs.astro.build/en/core-concepts/component-hydration/ super powerful!
working from the couch again, listening to my favorite 90s alternative music on my ipad, thinking i could listen to this on the apple tv (and good sound system) but what could go on the screen?
today i dealt with a foot of snow and keeping my kids entertained and work and dogs and … everything i had to deal with was a privilege because a neighboring dictator wasn’t firing missiles at me.
once again, i’ve implemented a new, hyped framework and in attempting to upgrade it, experienced several breaking changes, without any docs as to how to mitigate them.
just in case there are any JS folks who wonder about adoption - this is why users avoid your shiny new things

it’s been a rough week for me — new puppy breaks all routines. i just came off of a project at work and i’m idle, which stresses me out more than hard work does. but we got through it. so here’s a photo of my puppy sleeping with his tongue out.

precip today was pretty awful, 7 or 8 inches of snow then it started pouring rain. i cleared the driveway just as it was changing over. tonight the slush on top of the snow will probably freeze up
parenting tip - when your kids are playing Battleship, as they’re calling out letter/number coordinates, occasionally pop your head into the room and shout “Bingo!”
