my family arrived home expecting that i had recorded a hip-hop cover of a blink-182 song. i had to explain - no - while they were out, i was planning to _wrap_ All The Small Things.

if you’re the kind of person who compares your own physical conditioning to the other people at the gym, and maybe feel bad about yourself - good news.

today i set the bar really low for you.

real, real low.

in the past two days we’ve gotten 1.5 inches of rain, and that’s most of what has fallen in november. and nearly half of what fell in october. it’s been astonishingly dry here. glad the pattern is changing.

the biggest lesson i’ve learned from the latest project i was parachuted into (when it was already on fire), is to call b.s. on project scope and timelines. _Especially_ when the people who wrote the proposal completely ignored the estimates provided by devs.

in fact, run the other way, maybe.

one of my toughest adjustments to “checking in” on bluesky is the tooling. with (other networks and 3rd party apps that spoil me) i can open the app on mac/iphone/ipad and it scrolls to my last-viewed item in timeline. with the bluesky app i have to scroll and remember what i’ve already seen or not

today is an administrivia day. my current portfolio of domain names, email hosting, web hosting, etc. is best described as “a terrible mess.”

spent another day yesterday hauling truckloads of leaves to the transfer station. we should be just about done with fall yard cleanup.

it’s been incredibly dry here in the northeast, and the leaves are “fluffy” and “crispy” which means they do not compress well.

“powerful package”

Powerful Package
The PowerPC microprocessor's promise becomes reality in Apple's Power Macintosh series. Propelled by the efficient reduced-instruction-set-computer (RISC) chip,
Power Macs zip through complex tasks far more quickly than previous Macs-or most Windows PCs. For scientific, math, and graphics work, Power Macs are the hands-down champions. Add speech recognition
and Windows-compatibility options, and you've got the most versatile PCs around.
Cost: about $2,000 to $4,500.

@jayroh planning a career. seeing where you are, where that leads to, making crucial strategic decisions to get there. including, probably most important - saying no to things that don’t move you forward/upward.
